Parliamentary committees meet on oil issue
The finance and budget, defense, interior and environment parliamentary committees will hold a meeting on Monday headed by Speaker Nabih Berri to discuss executive decrees regarding Lebanon’s offshore resources.

Berri and the Members of Parliament intend to seize the opportunity to discuss the progress made to solve the conflict between Lebanon and Cyprus over maritime border delineation, before finally tackling the Israeli problem.

Energy Minister Jibran Bassil will attend the meeting in spite of a row between him and the Head of the Water and Energy parliamentary committee MP Mohammad Qabbani.

A closed-session between Berri and PM Najib Mikati will precede the parliamentary meeting.

The parliament will also convene a session on Tuesday to discuss the work carried out by parliamentary committees. No change is expected to occur in the existing parliamentary committees while some are expected to welcome new members.
