Higher Islamic Council to convene on Saturday

Lebanon's Higher Islamic Council issued a statement on Wednesday, in which it called for a meeting in Dar Al Fatwa next Saturday according to the council's regulation that stipulates holding a meeting on the first Saturday of each month.

The statement added that the Grand Mufti refused to hold a regular or an extraordinary meeting last month stressing that the Vice-President can replace him when the Mufti fails to fulfill his duties.
