Abdul Karim: Syria pressing on with reforms and dialogue
Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim confirmed on Tuesday that “what happened in the Arab League is the result of external influences”, adding that “Syria welcomes all benevolent efforts and is pressing on with reform and internal dialogue.”

Following his meeting with former PM Salim Hoss, Abdul Karim ruled out the possibility of Gulf states recognizing the Syrian Transitional National Council, stressing that Syrian citizens are aware of the plot against Syria.

Speaking out on recent attacks launched against him by some Lebanese parties, Abdul Karim said that he only refers to the international conventions, the Lebanese constitution and Lebanese-Syrian treaties, highlighting the good Lebanese-Syrian ties.
