Introduction to the evening news 22-02-2013

The week ends with two deadlocks, one related to the political situation and another related to the living and syndicate situation. A negative development on the ground also marks the end of the week.

The political deadlock emerged as the Orthodox gathering’s draft law is standing before the “mines” of the general authority, after passing through the “mines” of the joint parliamentary committee. However, until today, there has not yet been any indicator that the draft law will overcome the obstacles, given the firm stance taken by the President, a stance which seems to have led to the Bkerke meeting held on Thursday in an attempt to reach another law that will be an exit to the current impasse.

The living and syndicate deadlock is represented by the gradual escalation carried out by the Union Coordination Committee (UCC), while it remains unclear if the government will meet the demands of the UCC.

On the other hand, the negative development on the ground is the situation prevailing over the borders with Syria in the North and the Bekaa, and the events that have been taking place in the bordering towns.
