Ferzli: Orthodox Gathering law is a temporary solution

                   
On behalf of the Orthodox Gathering, former Deputy House Speaker Elie Ferzli held a press conference in Ashrafieh on Monday whereby he asserted the principles of the proposed draft law.                 

"The Orthodox Gathering law is a temporary solution and not a “permanent doctrine, " Ferzli said.                  
Ferzli thanked the country's political factions for proving that the Orthodox Gathering electoral law is constitutional by reflecting Christian-Muslim unity.                

In this context, Ferzli considered that sharing the Christian quotas by other sects led to the proposal of this electoral draft.                

He stressed also that Lebanon's Christian community, "an essential component of Lebanese society", has become the victim of exploitation, calling on domestic and foreign powers to "seize their grip off the rights of the Christians".               

Ferzli noted that the meeting of the four Christian parties with Patriarch Rai adds a significant national value to the draft law.
