Nasrallah: Rumors are part of a media campaign against Hezbollah

 
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made a televised appearance on Wednesday evening following rumors about his deteriorating health.      

In this context, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that all rumors surrounding his health are part of a media campaign against Hezbollah.                        

On the file of the elections, Nasrallah said that there's an alternative to all contentions, and added that until finding these alternatives, the Orthodox Gathering's electoral law remains in the forefront, pointing out that concerns of all parties must be respected.                         

"Considering Lebanon as one electoral district on the basis of the proportional representation electoral law is a fair proposal," Nasrallah said.        

Throughout his speech, Nasrallah added that it is within Hezbollah's interest to hold the elections on their constitutional due date, and addressed the March14 forces by saying “if you represent the majority, as you claim, then agree that the elections be held on the basis of one electoral district."                

As for the issue of the series of ranks and salaries, Nasrallah said that Hezbollah is with holding an extraordinary session for the cabinet in order to finalize this issue.    
      
In regards to the kidnapping wave, he said that this phenomenon is increasing and called on all government apparatuses to cooperate in order to bring this issue to an end.                

"We must all stand in the face of the rise of kidnapping operations in Lebanon," Nasrallah said.                

On another note, Nasrallah said that sectarian clashes in Lebanon are dangerous and are completely rejected and mentioned that "those who are accusing Hezbollah of giving orders to the Lebanese Armed Forces must prove their allegations."                               

Nasrallah pointed out that some Sunni Deputies and officials are delivering dangerous statements and "are inciting strife."           

"I am starting to believe that some people insist on creating conflict among the Lebanese people," he added.             

On the Syrian file, Nasrallah said that "the armed opposition has taken over Syrian bordering villages which are inhabited by Lebanese Shiites," and added that these forces are performing a wide military campaign to take over all villages inhabited by Lebanese nationals in Syria.         

"The Lebanese residents of the Syrian villages have inhabited those lands for hundreds of years, long before Sykes-Picot," Nasrallah said.           

Nasrallah added that Hezbollah is completely against dividing Syria because this is an "Israeli project," and questioned the efforts that Saudi Arabia, Qatar and USA are exerting in this regard.
