Chammas to LBC: An economic-social vision is needed

The Head of Beirut Traders Association Nicolas Chammas told Nharkom Said TV show that if the government issues the executive decree on wage adjustment they will recourse to the Shura Council.

“We are ready to join forces with the government to establish a joint economic and social vision with scientific basis”, Chammas said.

Chammas added that by issuing such a decision the cabinet created some kind of a social strife, saying: “We reproach the government for its ill-founded decision.”

Chammas said that the decree alone would increase inflation by 10%.
