The UCC rally outside Baabda Palace

The UCC staged on Wednesday a sit in outside the Baabda Palace with the participation of teachers and employees of the public sector.                         

 Head of the UCC Hanna Gharib reiterated his call on Najib Mikati to keep his promise in referring the ranks and salaries series to the Parliament on March 21.    
                                                       
 Gharib stressed that the UCC will be "as of today the voice of the public sector demands," and added that the sit-ins will not end before referring the pay scale.      
                                             
Earlier, the roads leading to the Serail in Baabda were blocked amid tight security measures impose by the LAF and the ISF.                               

The Union Coordinating Committee launched its open ended strike on February 19th 2013 after making repeated called on Prime Minister Mikati to validate the new salary scale and consequently refer it to Parliament for ratification.
