LF Leader Geagea praises stances of Hezbollah and Amal movement

      
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea denounced on Monday the attacks against Sunni clerics, and called on the concerned judicial authorities and security apparatuses to bring the perpetrators to justice and to impose severe penalties against them.       

In this context, the LF Leader called on all the Lebanese not to take to the streets and burn tires, but to show restraint and avoid any reaction that undermines the Lebanese State. 

In parallel, Geagea praised in a statement the stances voiced by Amal Movement and Hezbollah, which condemned the incident and called for the arrest of all the perpetrators.  

Two sheikhs from Dar al-Fatwa, Mazen Hariri and Ahmad Fakhran were attacked on Sunday, in the region of al-Khandak al-Ghamik, while they were heading to Mohammad al-Amin Mosque.        

The sheikhs were immediately taken to al-Makassed hospital for treatment.       

The Lebanese Armed Forces arrested 3 persons involved in attacking the Sunni clerics.        

The attack was not only limited to the 2 Sheikh in al-Khandak al-Ghamik; reports said that 2 other clerics were attacked in the Shiyah area.       

They were identified as Sheikh Omar Imami and Ibrahim Abdul Latif. They were transported to the Shtoura hospital after receiving first aid treatment in a Beirut hospital.
