Rai’s last days in US, slams politicians

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai said that it is unacceptable for politicians to pit us against each other as enemies.

Rai addressed politicians during a dinner he held in honor of Phillip Saliba, Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of All North America at the Orthodox Patriarchate of New Jersey: “It is as if you are seeking to split people like firewood; and this is not what politics are about”.

Rai ends his visit to the U.S. on Monday with a mass in Our Lady of Lebanon church in Brooklyn, and will be heading to Rome.
