“Saydat al-Jabal” meeting finally held

The “Saydat al-Jabal” meeting held on Sunday morning to discuss the repercussions of the Arab Spring on Lebanon and the region, stressing that some ideologies in this world are currently dividing people between good and evil, a strategy which established the basic legitimacy of authoritarian regimes.

The meeting, held in Regency Palace Hotel with more than 400 Christian figures attending, refused to link Christians’ fate in Lebanon to the fate of any political regime or source of oppression and tyranny that has turned the Arab world into a prison.

The attendees pointed out that only the state has the exclusive right to possess weapons, calling on the government to regulate border trafficking and end Syrian domination. The official decisions and recommendation of the “Saydat al-Jabal” meeting will be announced on Tuesday in a press conference.
