US Secretary of State Kerry contacts President Sleiman

US Secretary of State called on Sunday Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and praised his positions pertaining to holding the upcoming parliamentary elections according to the adopted democratic standards and on the basis of an electoral law agreed upon by the parliament.

Kerry expressed his country’s support to Lebanon’s stability and security and mentioned that the US is ready to support aid for the Syrian refugees.

Kerry added that the US supports the Lebanese stance pertaining to the Baabda agreement and to the recent developments in the regions.

For his part, President Sleiman said that Lebanon supports a political solution in regards to the Syrian crisis away from violence.
