Volunteers discover new grotto in Qannoubine Sacred Valley

A group of volunteers from the Qannoubine missionary announced on Tuesday that a new grotto was discovered in the Sacred Valley in the context of a comprehensive survey of the heritage of the valley.

The volunteers revealed that the cave is a cavity measuring 16 meters in width and 1.5 meters in height.

Covering the walls of the cave’s interior are layers of colorful stalactites in gray and dark green. Stalagmites resembling lit candles also rise from the floor of the cave and are said to be a light gray and yellow.

The central part of the cave stretches 20 meters long with 8 meters of width and 20 meters in height.

The last part of the cave is 2 meters lower that the central part with a dome-shaped ceiling measuring 30 meters in height.

Cool water drops fall permanently from the ceiling covering the entire cave, turning its sandy ground into mud.
