President Sleiman back from Doha

President Michel Sleiman and his accompanying delegation returned on Wednesday from Doha after having participated in the 24th Arab League summit.

Whilst in Qatar, President Sleiman met at his residence at the "Ritz", the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, with talks featuring high on bilateral ties, the Arab situation and the issue of the nine Lebanese pilgrims held hostage in Syria's Aazaz, the state run National News Agency reported.

Separately, Sleiman received a phone call at night from the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon and discussed the domestic and regional situation.

Ban Ki-moon stressed the need to hold national dialogue in Lebanon and reiterated his support to Sleiman's efforts in this regard.

Also, the Syrian refugees issue was highlighted in light of the increasing influx, whereby Sleiman urged the need for providing further assistance in this regard to help ease the burden.
