Hezbollah’s cells active in Latin America
European intelligence sources told “Al Seyassah al Kuwaiti” newspaper that revealing the assassination plot of the Saudi Arabia ambassador to Washington Adel al-Jubeir confirmed to European intelligence services that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah are active and working to establish a strong infrastructure in Europe and Latin America, allowing them to carry out terrorist acts on these lands.

The sources added that both organizations are using the Lebanese Shiite diaspora in these countries to recruit some of its members to gather information as they can move freely and undercover on local grounds and speak the local languages.

In this context the sources added that it is very probable that leading figures and operational experts in Hezbollah could arrive in Latin America before “Eid al-Adha” holiday, under religious or socials activities to meet with the recruited Shiites cadres.

The sources told the newspaper that these “terrorist networks” rely on three fundamentals: The Iranian Embassies in these country, operational cadres within the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah’s ranks and Shiite Husseiniat which were turned into intelligence hubs to hold meetings, exchange information, weapons and improvised explosive devices (IED).
