Moussa to LBC: Human Rights committee will not replace judiciary

The Head of the Human Rights parliamentary committee MP Michel Moussa told Nharkom Said that the committee enjoys limited prerogatives granted by the Parliament; therefore it cannot replace the judiciary.

Moussa said that Monday’s dispute was just another in a long line of heated parliamentary debates, adding that the discussions were strictly of a legal nature.

“The abduction of Al Jasem, Al Aysami and Joseph Sadr should never have been politicized”, Moussa said, stressing that the committee is following up on the matter for it is strictly a humanitarian and national issue.

Speaking on Syria’s violation of the Lebanese border, Moussa recalled the bilateral conventions signed between Lebanon and Syria calling for their implementation.
