PSP presents its candidatures for the parliamentary elections based on the 1960's law

The Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) has presented its candidatures on Thursday in the Interior Ministry for the upcoming parliamentary elections based on the 1960's law.

In this context, PSP Justice Commissioner Nash’at al-Husnieh announced that the candidatures were submitted based on the 1960’s draft law, noting that the names of candidates are as follows:

The National Struggle Front leader Walid Jumblatt, Minister of Displaced Alaa Eddine Terro, MP Akram Chehayeb, Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour, MP Nehme Tomeh, National Struggle Front MP Elie Aoun and Ayman Chqeir.

In addition, al-Husnieh said that the PSP stance dovetails with the stances of President Michel Sleiman who stressed the need to hold the upcoming parliamentary elections on their due date, and pointed out that the caretaker Public Works Minister Ghazi al-Aridi “has a personal desire not to run for the elections”.
