Rayess to LBCI: Jumblatt has taken an advanced and rare step

PSP Media Advisor Rami Rayess described MP Walid Jumblatt’s announcement that he would be running for the leadership of his party one last time as “an advanced and rare step in the Lebanese political life”; he stressed; however, that “this step does not eliminate the Jumblatt family history.”

Rayess told Nharkom Saiid TV show that Jumblatt’s step confirms that the party should be an independent political institution.

Commenting on the statement of former MP Fares Soueid who announced that “Jumblatt has become part of the Arab Spring, Rayess said “we are part of the Arab Spring by virtue of the party’s principles and the human rights which are being violated; such a position would come out naturally.”

Rayess said that “The Arab Spring requires a dialogue between all Lebanese factions to put an end to the current disputes.”
