Mikati: Security forces are bearing their responsibilities at the Lebanese-Syrian borders

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati denounced on Tuesday the Syrian shelling on Lebanese towns across the northern border, reiterating his rejection of the use of Lebanese territories as a battle field.

PM Mikati also condemned the Israeli violations of the Lebanese airspace to attack Syria.

In this framework, Mikati said via his twitter account that Lebanon should adhere to the dissociation policy that the government has been adopting since the onset of the Syrian crisis adding that “attempts to change this policy will not yield fruitful results”.

On another note, Mikati mentioned that “Lebanese security forces are carrying out their duties in regards to maintaining stability at the Lebanese-Syrian borders, 'but the overlap of these borders makes their tasks difficult',” he said.
