Abou Faour: The portfolio distribution proposed by PM-Designate Salam should be adopted

Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel met on Wednesday at his office with Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour and discussed with him the general political situation in the country.

Minister Abou Faour said that President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam are seeking the formation of a cabinet that all political parties agree upon, pointing out that factions should settle for the distribution proposed by PM-Designate Salam "since it is fair".

As for the electoral file, Abou Faour said that he is waiting for the results of contacts held with Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai, adding that "the ratification of a hybrid law is possible", but did not rule out the possibility of holding the elections on the basis of the 1960 electoral law.
