Pope Leo XIV to LBCI: I will continue contacts with world leaders in pursuit of peace

Pope Leo XIV, responding to a question from LBCI upon his arrival in Rome, said he has already reached out, and will continue reaching out, to global leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, to help bring an end to Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

When asked whether he would convey the Lebanese people’s plea to the American administration to halt the ongoing aggression, the Pope affirmed that he has been in communication with leaders “in pursuit of peace” and intends to maintain those efforts.

His remarks came shortly after concluding his three-day visit to Lebanon, during which he repeatedly emphasized the need for stability, dialogue, and peace.
