Paris to host high-level meeting on Lebanon next week

A high-level meeting focused on the situation in Lebanon is set to take place next week in Paris, with senior Lebanese, American, and regional officials expected to attend, according to multiple sources cited by AFP.

One source told AFP that Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolph Haykal is expected to arrive in Paris on Wednesday to take part in the discussions. The U.S. envoy Morgan Ortagus is also scheduled to attend, though three other sources said her participation has not yet been fully confirmed.

Another source revealed that a senior Saudi official is expected in Paris during the same week, as international efforts intensify to address Lebanon’s security and political crisis.

The Paris meeting is expected to precede a new session of the committee tasked with monitoring the ceasefire in Lebanon. That session is scheduled for December 19 and will bring together civilian representatives from both Lebanon and Israel.
