Maameltein cabaret shut down for employing minors
The ISF shut down a cabaret in Maamltein on Tuesday for employing minors.    

The ISF directorate general explained that “once being notified that under-aged females were working in a cabaret in Maameltein and are suspected to be sexually and financially abused, the police managed to identify 3 girls in the cabaret with the initials:  

- H.K (Lebanese, born in 1995)   

- H.K (Lebanese, born in 1995)   

- A.K. (nationality withheld, born in 1994)”      

The Directorate General said that after interrogating the girls it appeared that the cabaret owners had agreed with the girls’ relatives to let them work in the dancing industry for 15, 000 LBP per day, adding that the girls were surprised that from the first day they were asked by the owners to sit with the clients for 10, 000 LBP per client. The girls confirmed being sexually harassed by the clients; however they did not engage in prostitution.    

The girls’ parents confessed to the accusation and were arrested accordingly. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the owners of the cabaret which was later shut down.
