President Aoun signs decree calling parliament to an extraordinary session starting January 2, 2026

President Joseph Aoun signed Decree No. 2188 dated December 23, 2025, calling the Lebanese Parliament to an extraordinary session set to open on January 2, 2026, and conclude on March 1, 2026.

The decree outlined the agenda of the extraordinary session, which includes:

* The 2026 state budget bill
* Draft laws referred, or to be referred, to Parliament
* Other draft laws, proposals, and texts that the Parliament Bureau decides to place on the agenda

The decree was also signed by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
