Hot-button issue heats up Parliament atmosphere
Parliament is holding a legislative session on Wednesday to tackle 22 draft laws such as the issue of the pension for retired faculty members and two proposals put forth by Change and Reform Bloc. The first implies paying an indemnity or pensions for detainees released from Syrian prisons and the second will address the situation of Lebanese citizens who fled to Israel. The Parliament will also look into a draft law issued by the Finance and Budget Committee that allows the earmarking 8,900 billion LBP to cover the remaining expenses for 2011.

Wednesday’s session is likely to witness heated discussions on the abduction of Lebanese national Joseph Sadr, Syrian opposition leader Shebli Al Aissami and Al-Jasem brothers.
