MP Aswad to LBCI: The Orthodox Gathering draft law aims at granting equal rights

Change and Reform bloc MP Ziad Aswad stressed on Thursday that investigations are underway in order to reveal the reasons behind the attempt to assassinate Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun, adding that the statements delivered by Future bloc MP Jamal al-Jarrah in this regard are "useless" since "an investigation was launched and the judiciary is fulfilling its duties".

In an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, MP Aswad said that the Orthodox Gathering draft law aims at granting equal rights, which allows the Christians to have 64 deputies.

In this regard, MP Aswad expressed his disapproval of the statements made by Lebanese Forces MP Georges Adwan whereby the latter said his party "relinquished" the right to have 10 extra deputies "for the sake of Lebanon's national interest".
