Lebanese soldier wounded by gunfire from Syrian side near Qasr–Hermel

A Lebanese soldier was moderately wounded after gunfire was opened from the Syrian side toward a Lebanese Army position in the Qasr–Hermel area, according to a statement issued by the army.

Soldiers stationed at the post returned fire toward the sources of the gunshots.

Follow-up investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of the incident in coordination with the relevant Syrian authorities.
