Chammas voices readiness to engage in tripartite dialogue

PM Najib Mikati discussed the 2012 budget draft law and the wage raise issue with a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture chaired by Mohammed Choucair.

“The budget includes new taxes”, Choucair said. Mikati called for the establishment of an economic body that will offer advice as to which taxes to include in the budget.

The Head of the Beirut Traders Association Nicolas Chammas briefed Mikati on several budgetary issues. Speaking on the wage raise, Chammas said that the Association is always ready to engage in a constructive tripartite dialogue.

“It is very important to hold meetings with the price index committee in order to resume dialogue”, Chammas said.
