Caretaker Minister Bassil: We will not accept another "political war"

Caretaker Energy Minister Gebran Bassil held on Thursday a press conference whereby he responded to Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea.

He noted that Lebanon cannot exist without granting Lebanese parties apt representation, slamming the division of Lebanon into electoral district as per the hybrid draft law.

"The hybrid law will cause another civil war in Lebanon."

Caretaker Minister Bassil called on Lebanese leaders to put the Orthodox Gathering and the hybrid draft laws on vote at parliament.

On Hezbollah, he noted that he does not agree with Hezbollah fighting in Syria's al Qusayr, saying however that Hezbollah "transferred the fight to Syria", while the Imam of Bilal bin Rabah mosque Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir and his allies "transferred the battle into Lebanon."
