Fouad Abou Nader to LBCI: Politicians preventing LAF from taking action

Liberty Front leader, Fouad Abou Nader, said on Friday that the incidents currently taking place in the city of Tripoli are nothing “new” since they have roots dating back to before the Syrian revolution, adding however that “battles in Syria’s al-Qusayr exacerbated the situation in the city”.

In an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, Abou Nader pointed out that the current clashes and security incidents are a result of the conflict among Lebanese sects over power.

In this context, Abou Nader said that the politicians are preventing the Lebanese Armed Forces from taking action, stressing that “tension can only be ceased should the said politicians give the LAF the full authority to implement a ceasefire”.
