Syrian army burns olive groves, flames reach Lebanon

Sources to LBCI reported that the Syrian army set ablaze the crop lands and olive groves of Halwas and Nsoub on the Syrian side of Jabal Akroum in Akkar, noting that the flames reached the Lebanese lands.

On Wednesday reports said unknown assailants had also set fire to three kilometers of olive groves in Jabal Akroum, North Lebanon.

The spillover of the Syrian crisis has been affecting several border towns in Lebanon, which have been subject to rocket attacks and sporadic clashes.
