Meager demonstration outside Roumieh claiming general amnesty

The relatives of Roumieh prison inmates staged a meager demonstration on Saturday outside the prison in protest on the government negligence of their demands, mainly to grant general amnesty to their relatives.

The head of the parents committees, Khodr Daher urged the parliament to pass a general amnesty law as done for those released last Wednesday, adding “We consider this to be discrimination, marginalization and procrastination, given that we were all promised to have our demands met during the visits we paid to officials.”

Daher confirmed that “it is a peaceful movement,” however, he warned that heightened measures will be taken should their demands not be met.
