REPORT: 16 rockets from Syrian side hit Lebanon

A rocket from the Syrian side crashed on Saturday in the Bekaa town of Britel while another hit the town of Nahle in Baalbeck.

Earlier, the state-run National News Agency reported that several rockets launched from the Syrian side crashed in Lebanese bordering regions.

Four  rockets hit the eastern mountain range nearby al-Shaara region between the towns of Sarein al-Fawqa and Sarein al-Tahta.

Only material damages were reported.

Shells also landed near al-Nasseriya, al-Nabi Sheet, and the Bekaa town of Brital, making the total number of rockets fired 16.

On another note, four Syrians were arrested in the region on suspicion of  launching shells.

Meanwhile, unknown men opened fire at Saturday dawn  at a shrine for Sayyeda Khawla at the Bekaa city of Baalbek.

Bordering regions with Syria in Bekaa have frequently come under shelling from the fighting taking place in Syria.

The Free Syrian Army had acknowledged that it targeted some Lebanese areas.

Rockets have frequently landed in the region of Hermel.
