Ferzli: Parliament's term extension is a "war between two cultures"

Former Deputy Speaker Elie Ferzli met on Wednesday in Rabieh with the Head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun and discussed with him the latest political developments on the Lebanese scene.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Ferzli said that “the process of dissolving the role of the state is related to political interests of various religious components,” and mentioned that this process has become inappropriate.

Ferzli added that the current Lebanese situation as well as the extension of the parliament’s mandate come in line of a "war between two cultures".
