Internet service in Lebanon down again, Hariri LOLs
According to LBCI exclusive information, Internet service in Lebanon was down to 10% efficiency due to a malfunction in a land cable on Thursday.

This country-wide failure comes hot on the heels of another national outage on Monday that halted internet traffic for three hours due to a similar failure. The executive director of IDM, Maroun Chammas, told LBCI that the solution lies in automating the transfer of service from lines that have failed to those that are still operational.

After two major failures in less than a week’s time, the words of IDM executive director ring more true for a connected Lebanese public that has grown increasingly reliant on a decrepit and insufficient infrastructure.

Even former PM Saad Hariri was affected by the outage on Thursday during his, now regular, evening Twitter sessions. When a follower posted “Salam from Boston, MA, I believe your tweets are upsetting the Minister of Telecom and his boss, they just cut the internet”, Hariri responded with “loooool what can i do”.
