Girl with Down Syndrome gets bullied, country’s President walks her to school
After learning that an 11-year-old girl with Down syndrome was being bullied at school, the President of the Republic of North Macedonia escorted her to class.

The president has been praised for taking such a significant step toward inclusivity.

When President Stevo Pendarovski learned that Embla Ademi, an 11-year-old girl from Gostivar, was being bullied at school, he went to see her. Pendarovski also accompanied Embla to her 'Edinstvo' primary school.

The president spoke with the girl's family to learn about the obstacles they encounter on a daily basis, including bullying, and encouraged them to "push for the preservation of children's rights," according to a statement.

"It is our responsibility as a state, but also as individuals, and empathy is a critical component of our joint task." It will help children like Embla, but it will also teach us how to really enjoy, share, and stand together," Pendarovski was reported as saying.

“Prejudices in that context are the main obstacle to building an equal and just society for all,” he told the local press. The President's images and videos with the little girl went viral on social media platforms, eliciting a lot of admiration from all corners.
