Japan fears electricity crisis due to record temperatures
Japanese authorities warned on Monday of the possibility of an electricity crisis at a time when record temperatures were recorded in the country and Tokyo experienced the shortest rainy season in its history.
"We ask citizens to reduce energy consumption in the afternoon when electricity reserves are at their lowest level in the greater Tokyo area," said Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihiko Isozaki     
However, the government also asked citizens to take the necessary precautions to avoid the heat and health problems due to high temperatures.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the temperature in Tokyo will reach 35 degrees Celsius on Monday and will remain above 34 degrees until next Sunday.
