Syrian rebel leader calls for end to sanctions, focus on rebuilding institutions

The New York Times quoted Syrian rebel leader Ahmed al-Sharaa who stressed that Syria now needs "to prioritize building a state and creating public institutions that served all Syrians."
 
He also called for sanctions that had been imposed on al-Assad’s government to be lifted.
