Syrian Foreign Ministry reaffirms state's exclusive authority over arms

The Syrian Foreign Affairs Ministry reiterated on Monday that all military and security matters, foremost among them the bearing of arms, must remain strictly under the authority of the state.

In an official statement, the ministry renewed its call on all countries and international organizations to respect the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic and to refrain from supporting any separatist or rebel movements.

The ministry emphasized that maintaining national unity and stability requires that no armed activity operate outside the central government's control.
