Merz says US-Iran agreement could help stabilize global economy

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said Monday that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran could contribute to stabilizing the global economy, adding that it should also include Lebanon.

Speaking ahead of this week’s Group of Seven summit hosted by France, Merz said a “window of diplomacy” had opened regarding the war in Ukraine and that he intended to discuss the issue with U.S. President Donald Trump.
