REPORT: Remaining corpses found in wake of Roueis explosion identified, handed over to families

Activists carried out on Monday a sit-in in the Roueis region in a show of support to the fallen victims of Thursday's blast.
 
Meanwhile, the government's deputy commissioner to the Military Tribunal Judge Sami Sader launched the hand over operation of 13 bodies belonging to victims killed in the Roueis bombing last week.

This comes after the corpses were identified through DNA tests conducted with family members who had reported a missing person in the wake of the attack.

The body of one Syrian national who apparently worked in the region was also identified, bringing the issue of missing persons and unidentified bodies to a close.

Judge Sader also said that no "foreign" body was found at the scene to indicate the presence of a suicide bomber.

 Meanwhile, preliminary investigations are underway to reveal the circumstances of the attack and the details related to the booby-trapped car which was said to be a 2002 BMW.

 On Thursday August 15, a powerful car bomb ripped through the Beirut Southern Suburbs' region of Roueis, a stronghold of Hezbollah, claiming the lives of 27 civilians and leaving more than 289 wounded, some of whom are still receiving treatment.
