REPORT: Rights groups condemn Moroccan editor's detention over al-Qaeda video

Amnesty International has condemned the detention of a Moroccan editor as a setback for freedom of expression after his website published an al-Qaeda video.

Moroccan police arrested Ali Anouzla, editor of the online news website Lakome, on Tuesday at his home for alleged incitement to violence.

Al-Qaeda's North Africa branch issued a video last week criticizing the Moroccan government, which was covered by Lakome and other local media.

This report will shed light on the stances of the Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the Morocco Association of Human Rights in this regard.
