REPORT: Gemayel stresses need to form new cabinet, says current situation inacceptable

The head of the Kataeb party Amine Gemayel stressed on Monday that the Indonesian boat incident illustrates the Lebanese citizens’ despair that led them to sell their properties in Lebanon in order to live in Australia.

During a press conference, Gemayel said that the country’s situation has become inacceptable, stressing the need to form a rescue cabinet as soon as possible.

In this context, he called on President Michel Sleiman and the Prime Minister-Designate to form a new government within the framework of the Baabda Declaration.

On another note, Gemeyal said that he supports holding the presidential elections on time, refusing any proposal aiming at amending the Constitution.
