REPORT: Beirut Marathon kicks off with at least 36 thousand contestants

The Banque du Liban Beirut Marathon kicked off Sunday morning with more than 36 thousand participants from at least 104 countries. The race includes several categories, chief among which the 42.192 kilometers.

The marathon kicked off from outside the Beirut International Exhibition & Leisure Center (BIEL) in central Beirut.

Earlier, the President of the Beirut Marathon Association May al-Khalil has presented, during a press conference, the 21 professional contestants participating in the race, including Kenyan William Kipsang the winner of 2008 Rotterdam Marathon and who won the bronze medal in last year’s Beirut Marathon.
