REPORT: Sources to LBCI: Governmental negotiations did not yield fruitful results

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman stressed on Monday the importance of forming a new cabinet, pointing out that Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam is conducting a new round of contacts and its results will be revealed in the upcoming days.

Sleiman noted during his meeting with a delegation of former PAC employees that the situation in Lebanon requires the formation of a new government, adding that the parliament will decide whether to grant confidence or not.

In this regard, sources reported to LBCI that meditations have so far failed to yield any fruitful results seemingly since the Free Patriotic Movement is insisting on the formation of a cabinet that prepares for the upcoming presidential elections.

President Sleiman also met on Monday caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour and discussed with him the governmental dossier.
