REPORT: Dutch Father spends five decades in Syria's Homs

At a time when residents in Syria's Homs are struggling to find food and the Christian population became a few dozens, elderly Dutch Father Frans van der Lugt remained there in solidarity with the Syrians.

Father Frans, 75, who spent nearly five decades in Syria, arrived there in 1966 after spending two years in Lebanon studying Arabic.
