REPORT: Policy statement drafting committee to hold 10th session on Tuesday

The committee tasked with drafting the cabinet policy statement held its 9th session on Friday to the Grand Serail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam.

Following the session, the members scheduled Tuesday for holding a new meeting.

Prior to the meeting, sources reported to LBCI that former PM Saad Hariri will present a proposal next week whereby he will suggest the use of "resistance" in the policy statement alongside side the Baabda Declaration.

For his part, Environment Minister Mohamad Mashnouq stated that the committee will refer to the government in case it fails to resolve controversial items.

Sources also told LBCI that the letter delivered by Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil to the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers included the word "resistance."
