REPORT: President Sleiman says policy statement should be basis of resuming national dialogue
President Michel Sleiman opened on Saturday the Lebanese Economic Forum at Biel.

Sleiman addressed a speech in which he stressed the need to establish "logical and daring economic reforms" and stop holding onto "hopeless" economic models.

He also revealed that The Baabda Palace will announce a plan regarding administrative decentralization that should be adopted in the few coming days.

On the cabinet and the drafting of the ministerial statement, Sleiman said that a national unity government was formed and the policy statement should be the basis of resuming the national dialogue.

President Sleiman concluded by reiterating that the state is the only guarantee, stressing that rival parties respect the constitutional deadlines.

Lebanese rival leaders are sharply divided over various pending issues, such as the drafting of the ministerial policy statement, the upcoming presidential elections and the Syrian civil war.
