REPORT: Radical Islamic group behind assassination of ISF member Bayee, LAF soldier Jubaily
Member of the Internal Security Forces Boutros al-Bayee (hailing from Kfardlaqous – Zgharta) was shot dead on Friday morning in the northern city of Tripoli, when gunmen opened fire at his vehicle, hitting him in the head. After he was shot, al-Bayee lost control over his Range Rover, which fell into Abou Ali River.

The Lebanese Armed Forces and Red Cross teams rushed to scene, pulled the body from the river and took it to the governmental hospital in the city.

Security sources told LBCI that the group that killed LAF soldier Fadi al-Jubaily on Thursday may be the one that killed ISF member al-Bayee, noting that it is affiliated with a Salafist radical group.

"Tripoli's security plan will contribute to the eradication of extremist groups which seem to have taken a decision to confront the Lebanese military forces," the sources added.
