REPORT: National dialogue session wraps up, May 5 set for upcoming round
Monday's national dialogue session wrapped up and President Michel Sleiman set the 5th of May as a date to hold a new round of all-party talks at the Baabda Palace.

Lebanese officials attended Monday's national talks under the auspices of President Sleiman who invited rival leaders to tackle the controversial issue of Hezbollah’s weapons or the so-called national defense strategy.

MP Agop Pakradonian was the first to arrive, followed by former Prime Minister Najib Mikati, former minister Mohammad Safadi, Kataeb leader Amin Gemayel, Change and Reform Bloc leader MP Michel Aoun, National Struggle Front leader MP Walid Jumblatt, Head of the Future bloc MP Fouad Siniora, Prime Minister Tammam Salam, Tourism Minister Michel Faraon, Deputy Speaker Farid Makari and MP Michel el-Murr.

The session was held amid a boycott by the majority of the March 8 coalition's representatives and Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea from the March 14 alliance.

Also on Monday, President Michel Sleiman held talks with Mikati ahead of the dialogue session, the state-run National News Agency reported.
